Intro to Dancing Classrooms Residency (4th Grade)

A 7-week residency for 4th grade students designed to bridge the gap and improve students attitude and comfort levels around dancing with their peers.  The goal of the Intro to Dancing Classrooms residency is to provide for a smoother transition for students moving on to the Traditional Residency in 5th grade.

Connecting With Care
(5th and 6th Grades)

A “touch-less” adaptation of the 10 week Dancing Classrooms Traditional Residency. Using connector ropes, students are able to connect and partner with one another without physical touch and while maintaining a minimum of 3 ft social distance. A Connecting With Care Residency will look very much like the Traditional Residency with students dancing on a circle, facing one another, and dancing with a partner.

Dancing Together Side By Side
(5th and 6th Grades)

This 10 week residency format introduces students to the same 6 ballroom dances we all love (Merengue, Foxtrot, Rumba, Tango, Swing & Waltz) while dancing side by side.  Students dance together, without partnering in dance frame, and learn both the lead and follow footwork.  It’s our version of Ballroom Line Dancing!

Traditional Residency
(5th and 6th Grades)

The residency that started it all! In a Dancing Classrooms Traditional Residency, students are guided on a novel journey that leads to growth and success through the practice and learning of ballroom dance.  Regarded by school administrators and classroom teachers as “Tops in Anti-Bullying,” the Traditional Residency provides a platform for students to view their peers in new and more positive ways as they work together in dance frame. A Traditional Residency requires students to dance in a circle, face a partner, and to be linked in traditional dance frame.
